Darnel Christoph is known as the Official "Groove Shaker". Bringing a new groove each time DC steps up on the decks. His promise is to bring the groove out of you to the dance floor. His passion for Tech House, Techno, Deep & Minimal blended with Hip-Hop & R&B flair brings unique taste of genres coming together in a groove. Each set will have his fellow Groove Shakers dancing day & night as they are taken on a musical journey. Building a community of music lovers that can bond & build a new appreciation for different styles of music.
Darnel Christoph has been shaking up the San Francisco at his residency AudioSF Nightclub. Born & raised in the Bay Area CA, Darnel Christopher has been a native to an area that respects individuality & openness to new music. Growing up in a household where his mother would listen to Soft Rock & Roll along with Country. His father would listen to a mixture of Old School R&B along with Hip-hop classics. DC has been inspired by many artist before his generation such as Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire for their own unique style & blends of music.
Becoming a pioneer to a new sound has always been a goal of Darnel Christoph. Living in the bay area DC was influenced by hip-hop & Rap throughout high school. During early years of college Darnel Christoph studied Electronic Music to understand the basis of creating music. Following year 2011, Darnel Christoph started Djing at small parties & store events. His first opportunity came at 2012 during his first residency at Daly City Mink Bar & Lounge which was primarily Hip-Hop. During open set nights, DC would play House sets with a mix of Hip-Hop remixes. During the year 2013 DC entered a DJ mix competition with Select Entertainment to open at San Francisco's Vessel (Love+Propaganda). Placing second he was offered his first gig in San Francisco with Kryder & Ron Reeser. Select Entertainment opened many opportunities for Darnel Christoph to share decks with many influential artists from around the world.
The year 2017 released his first two new tracks (Head Dreams/Space Alarm) under his Melodic Techno Alias "Lucid D" which were signed by Elikonas Records. Achieving an important milestone inspired DC to focus on the producing side of my sound & the message in the music created. Currently in 2018, Darnel Christoph hosted 3 of his own "Groove Takeover Events" in San Francisco at AudioSF & 1015 Folsom. Bringing local artist together to share music and build a community that can influence the world. During the summer Darnel Christoph was invited to play at his first festival "Soulstice" for the Select Entertainment stage in San Francisco. Looking forward, DC has big plans for next year with new music & opportunities that allow more Groove Shakers to join the music journey.
